The Copper Harbor Trails Club (CHTC) in Copper Harbor, MI is known for their “get ‘er done” attitude and sweet trails. When they approached Monte Consulting for a logo and website redesign, MC was only too happy to comply.
MC has been working with CHTC for the past four years, and they didn’t waste any time creating a logo that encompassed all aspects of the club—biking, cross-country skiing, hiking, and snowshoeing. An earthy color palette with shades chosen to represent each season and a clean typeface set in a mountain backdrop completed the logo.
MC used the new logo as inspiration for the website design. The website uses the same earth tones throughout and the content is presented on a hinged, wooden trail sign placed against a panoramic aerial photo of the copper country. MC constructed the site with Drupal, a content management system that makes adding and editing content a breeze.
With the CHTC brand and website complete, MC created a logo for the Fat Tire Festival. This annual festival has several different races with riders from all over the country. MC had designed their medals (made of wood) in the past, so the challenge was to create a logo that identified both with the medal design and the new CHTC logo. The final product features the mountain shape and a larger scale rider with the earth tones color palette, creating a solid brand identity throughout.
