Last summer, MC worked with Pine Mountain Music Festival (PMMF) to create a brand for their new opera, Rockland. Now PMMF has again enlisted MC’s help in creating marketing materials to promote their 21st season and the premiere of Rockland.
Rockland is based on a long-forgotten incident in Rockland, Ontonagon County, in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, in 1906, when a group of striking Finnish copper miners were confronted by sheriff’s deputies. Shots were fired, and two Finnish miners were killed. The New World Premiere performances of Rockland are on July 15 and 17, 2011 at the Rozsa Center for Performing Arts on the campus of Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan.
Monte Consulting developed a season logo and theme (The Rockland Season) and plans to incorporate them throughout the marketing media. Designs currently in development include a newsletter, ticket brochure, posters, concert program, and website. In keeping with the PMMF brand established by MC in 2009, the media will incorporate bold colors and photography to elicit excitement in the opera and other season events.
Keep an eye out for the brochures and posters, soon to be appearing in businesses around the Keweenaw and throughout the U.P. Don’t miss this opportunity to see the premiere of Rockland--tickets go on sale May 1st and they are sure to go fast!
